Do I need a visa for Ghana?
Most nationalities require a visa to enter Ghana. Apply online via the Ghana Immigration Service website before travel. We strongly advise applying at least 3-4 weeks in advance, and no later than 2 weeks before departure. Check your country's Ghana embassy for specific requirements.
What vaccines do I need?
Yellow fever vaccination is required to enter Ghana. Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Malaria prophylaxis are strongly recommended. Consult your local travel clinic at least 4–6 weeks before departure.
Where can I get travel vaccines?
Visit a certified travel clinic in your country before departure. Search 'travel vaccination clinic' in your city for the nearest option.
Is Ghana safe to visit?
Ghana is one of the most politically stable countries in West Africa and is widely considered safe for tourists. Normal travel precautions apply.
Is the beach nearby?
Busua Beach is just a few steps from the lodge. You can walk there in under a minute.

Yes, our restaurant serves fresh meals on demand including local Ghanaian dishes and international options.

Check-in is from 2pm. Early check-in may be available on request. Check-out is by 11am.

English is the official language of Ghana and is widely spoken. Local languages include Ahanta and Fanti in the Western Region.

Most rooms have air conditioning. Some rooms have ceiling fans only. Check the individual room details on our Rooms page.
Is there a swimming pool?
There isn't a pool on site, but a nearby resort has one. You can easily purchase a cheap day pass to use their swimming pool however long you want.
Can I surf at Busua?
Yes, Busua has surf breaks suitable for beginners. Local surf instructors are available. More advanced surfers can also visit nearby Princess Beach.
What activities are available?
Day trips to colonial forts like Elmina and Cape Coast, fishing, surfing, birdwatching, local market visits, and percussion lessons with local artists.
Is the water safe to drink?
We recommend drinking bottled water during your stay. Bottled water is available at the lodge.
What currency is used?
The Euro (€) is commonly used at our lodge. However, the Ghanaian Cedi (GH₵) and US Dollars are also accepted if needed.
What is the weather like?
Ghana has a tropical climate. Expect warm temperatures year round between 25–35°C. The main rainy season runs from April to June.
How far is the nearest hospital?
The nearest hospital is in Takoradi, approximately 40km away. Basic medical care is available in nearby towns.

Yes, Ghana has good 4G coverage in most areas including Busua. You can buy a local SIM card at the airport or in Takoradi for affordable data.
